Parent / Survivor Meeting
Overview
ISPNO FAMILY EDUCATION DAY has been created "By Families - For Families" with an understanding that families of children affected by brain tumors are an integral part of the medical/family partnership. Knowledge is power and informed families become strong advocates and partners with surgeons, oncologists and related health professionals in providing their children optimal care. This unique educational experience will provide parents and survivors aged 18 years and older with an opportunity to partner with some of the world's most renowned medical experts in the field of pediatric Neurosurgery and Neuro-Oncology.
Target Audience:
Parents of children affected by brain tumors, Survivors, Siblings, Caregivers, and Medical & Allied Health Professionals
Topics will include:
• Welcome and Networking with families across the country/world
• Meet the Experts: Question/Answer with experts in Neurosurgery and Neuro-oncology from across the globe
• Epidemiology & Etiology of Childhood Brain Tumors
• Transition Related to Education, Adulthood, and Life
• Survivor and siblings Issues
• Perspective on Quality of Life
• Closing Reception with Medical Experts and Families
